Last July, Khloe welcomed her newborn son, named ‘Tatum’ via surrogate, marking Khloe’s second child with her former partner Tristan Thompson. Together, they are also proud parents to their five-year-old daughter, True.
The Good American founder learned just weeks after they underwent an embryo transfer in November 2021 that Thompson had secretly fathered a child with fitness model Maralee Nichols. However, Khloe in the new season recalls just how ‘hard the surrogate process’ was for her, with Kim insisting that her sister had ‘a hard time accepting’ it all. ‘It was a mind f**k,’ Khloe remarks. ‘It’s just the weirdest thing.’
Kim, who used surrogacy for two of her pregnancies explains, ‘I do think there is a difference when the baby is in your belly, the baby actually feels your real heart.’
The mom-of-four continued, ‘There is no one else on this planet who will feel you from the inside like that. People can connect in different ways, some cannot connect.’ Scott then asks Khloe: ‘So do you feel less connected?’ And in response, she admits to a disconnect from her newborn son and acknowledges that people have told her it will take time. Khloe does appear to envy Kim, believing she had an easy time connecting with her kids born via surrogacy.
Khloe shared in the confessional, ‘I definitely buried my head in the sand during that pregnancy and that I didn’t digest what was happening. So, I think when I went to the hospital, I really think that was the first time that it really registered.
The mom-of-two insisted her feelings had nothing to do with the baby but with the circumstances. She continued, ‘You’re just like, ok, we’re having a baby and this is my son and I’m taking him home with me. I definitely was in a state of shock from my entire experience. I felt really guilty that this woman just had my baby and I take the baby and I go in another room and we are sort of separated. I felt that it was such a transactional experience because it’s not about him.’
Khloe further claimed she wishes she had known more about surrogacy and the complexities before agreeing to it.
‘I wish someone was honest about surrogacy and the difference of it. It doesn’t mean it’s bad or good. It’s still great. It’s just very different,’ she concluded. Khloe equally took fans along as she embarks on a scary journey after noticing a suspicious bump on her face that turned out to be melanoma. She is predisposed to skin cancer and asked about the ‘band-aid on your face’ by Scott during his visit to her house.
Khloe told the audience she had a bump on her face biopsied after keeping an eye on it for ‘seven or eight months.’
‘I am just waiting for the results,’ says Khloe, who stated the ordeal was another blow following her ex-boyfriend Thompson’s paternity scandal and the birth of their son via surrogate last year. Mom Kris Jenner, in another scene, reveals the results of the biopsy while speaking to her younger daughter Kylie Jenner at a party celebrating Kendall Jenner’s 818 Tequila line.
The momager pulls the Kylie Cosmetics founder aside and tells her that the bump is cancerous. ‘I’m just a little worried, and now she has to have it removed,’ Kris reveals in a whisper. ‘Wow,’ Kylie reacted. Kris then further said Khloe has a history of melanoma and cancerous legions, therefore the bout on her face is very concerning to the family. Nonetheless, the Kardashians Season 3 is available now on Disney+.
