Recent reports have indicated that Shakira is requesting that Tom Cruise refrain from flirting with her after she caught his attention during a recent meeting at the FI Grand Prix. The 60-year-old has been flirting with the Colombian singer after their exchange at the race meet. And just as the celebrities were photographed together, it sparked speculation of a potential romantic relationship.
According to Spanish news outlet Marca, the Hollywood actor was ‘absolutely mesmerized’ and told his friends he felt a connection with Shakira.
However, Shakira is not looking for love at the moment as she’s focused on her children amid the break-up with Gerard Pique in 2023. According to a source in an interview with Heat Magazine claimed Shakira is begging Tom to stop flirting with her. The insider added Tom was ‘giddy’ after their meeting and acted similarly to the way he did after meeting his ex-wife, Katie Holmes.
The source added: ‘She doesn’t want to embarrass or upset him, but there’s no attraction or romance on her part – she was just being friendly. She’s flattered but not interested.‘
Us Weekly reported the Hips Don’t Lie singer found the relationship rumors’ hilarious’ and despite having a ‘fun’ time with Tom at the Formula 1, she has no plans to take things further. An insider alleged, ‘Shakira had a great time hanging out with Tom at F1 but she has no interest in dating him.’ They went on to explain the singer is currently taking a dating break after her 11-year relationship with Gerard came to an end in June.
The insider continued: ‘Tom was really nice and she enjoyed his company, but she isn’t focused on dating him or anybody else at the moment. She has a lot on her plate and is focused on her kids and career for now.’
