The father, John, is told by his daughter Caroline that she has a twin sister named Clara at school. John becomes suspicious and investigates, discovering that there is no student named Clara in Caroline’s class. He then visits Caroline’s teacher, who reveals that Caroline has no friends at school and is often quiet and plays alone. While observing Caroline at the playground, John is shocked to see a girl who looks identical to Caroline with a man, whom he assumes is her father.
