Dr. Phil went to North Carolina and discovered that Franklin Graham’s organization, Samaritan’s Purse, is doing a better job than FEMA in helping people affected by a disaster.

Dr. Phil McGraw praised Franklin Graham’s relief organization, Samaritan’s Purse, for its work helping victims of Hurricane Helene in North Carolina. He said their efforts are far outshining FEMA’s.

Dr. Phil explained that while FEMA and others are busy talking and making plans, Samaritan’s Purse is already out there, taking action and getting things done.

He also said he wants to keep people aware of the ongoing recovery efforts, since most of the country has moved on with their lives. “They need our help, our support, and to know we haven’t forgotten about them,” McGraw said.

In a post on X, McGraw mentioned that his charity, Merit Street, is partnering with Samaritan’s Purse to assist those in need.

My team at @MeritStreet and I have teamed up with @SamaritansPurse and our friends at @MichaelsStores to deliver supplies, generators, and a helping hand to people affected by the hurricane. A special thanks to @TimKennedyMMA for getting us moving in the right direction. A lot… pic.twitter.com/fVzHsi47bo

Dr. Phil also posted a video from an airport in Boone, North Carolina, where he was helping distribute hundreds of Starlink units donated by Elon Musk to help restore communication in the area.

The video showed an older couple who told Dr. Phil’s team that FEMA hadn’t shown up yet. In fact, the private relief workers were the first people they had seen.

People are stranded out there with no way to contact emergency services, doctors, any other kind of help, or loved ones. Thanks to @elonmusk, @mikecoryell from @Starlink and the @SamaritansPurse team, we were able to put a lot of people back in contact with the world. Stay tuned… pic.twitter.com/WtP3Xtia9o

Edward Graham, the son of Franklin Graham and the COO of Samaritan’s Purse, told Fox News host Lawrence Jones on Monday that western North Carolina looks like a war zone and reminds him of places he saw while serving in the military.

Graham, a West Point graduate who served 16 years in the U.S. Army, said many locals have been praising Samaritan’s Purse for their work, saying, “We see them on the ground.”

When asked what Samaritan’s Purse is doing differently, Graham explained they’re distributing aid through local churches and volunteer fire departments, ensuring help gets to the right places first and quickly.

He also mentioned that Samaritan’s Purse has 10 helicopters, including Black Hawks, working in the region. The focus of recovery is shifting from just food and water to providing generators for power and Starlink kits for communication.

Former President Donald Trump also teamed up with Samaritan’s Purse last week, sending truckloads of supplies to Georgia.
