“Elementary” is a newer version of Sherlock Holmes stories by Arthur Conan Doyle. It’s set in New York City and follows Dr. Joan Watson (played by Lucy Liu) who starts working with the famous detective Sherlock Holmes (played by Johnny Lee Miller). Initially, she’s assigned to help him stay sober, but they end up solving crimes together. The show is structured like a crime drama, with each episode focusing on solving a different case. It includes many nods to the original Holmes stories, but with some unexpected twists. Other actors in the show include Aidan Quinn and John Micahel Hill as Thomas Gregson and Marcus Bell, and John Noble makes appearances as a guest star.

This version of Sherlock Holmes, created by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock and Martin Freeman as Watson. They team up and start solving mysteries together all over the U.K. and sometimes even abroad. It’s set in a modern-day setting, so it feels more like the 2010s. Sherlock is shown as a really smart but kinda weird guy who can solve even the weirdest crimes using his super brain, but he struggles to connect with people emotionally. Meanwhile, Watson writes about their adventures in a blog and forms a friendship with Sherlock, even though it’s a bit complicated.

Shawn Spencer has a special talent for noticing small details, taught by his dad, Henry, who used to be a cop. One day, Shawn gets wrongly accused of a crime he actually solved. To clear his name, he pretends to be a psychic and convinces the police he can solve crimes using his “powers.” With the help of his best friend, Gus, Shawn starts working with the police to solve cases, even though they’re not sure if he’s really psychic or just really observant.

He also spends time trying to figure out who killed his wife with a car bomb. Other actors in the show include Bitty Schram, Traylor Howard, Ted Levine, and Jason Gray-Stanford.

They work with a team at a place called the Jeffersonian Institute.
