Queen Camilla is reportedly eyeing the perfect revenge on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, aiming to leave them livid with her latest move. King Charles’s wife has ventured into the podcast realm, launching “The Reading Room Podcast” just months after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex faced setbacks, losing their deal with Spotify. Set to mark her comeback after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped back from the royal family in 2020 and relocated to the United States, Queen Camilla’s podcast follows the success of her online book club. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex signed lucrative deals, including one with Spotify.
However, last summer, the partnership with arual audio and the streaming giant ended after just one series of Meghan’s podcast “Archetypes,” comprising 12 episodes. The new series, “The Reading Room Podcast,” is expected to create waves, possibly causing a stir in Montecito. According to a source, Camilla was a significant target in Harry’s memoir “Spare,” where he labeled her a villain and accused her of leaking stories to the press. While Camilla hasn’t publicly responded to these allegations, Denise Palmer Davis, a brand expert, suggested that by excelling in an area where the Sussexes fell short, the Queen can subtly get her own back.
Palmer Davis noted, “After all the hurtful things Harry has said about Camilla, she has finally got her own back on them. If her podcast does well, and I am sure it will, she will have achieved in an area they so desperately wanted to succeed in. Then that is the perfect revenge.” The expert added that Meghan, in particular, might be livid and embarrassed that her podcast fell at the fir st hurdle.
“The Reading Room Podcast” features notable readers and writers, including Dame Joanna Lumley, Ian Rankin, David Baddiel, and Elif Shafak, with the first episode dropping on January 8th. Camilla initiated her online book club during the COVID-19 pandemic, sharing her literary preferences on an Instagram page. Royal expert Jenny Bond emphasized Camilla’s passion for reading since childhood and described the podcast as a noble endeavor to encourage both children and adults to enjoy a good, long read. Bond dismissed the idea that the project is intended as revenge against Harry and Meghan, stating, “I very much doubt that she gives Megan much thought; she is far too busy making a resounding success of her new role.”
