According to insiders, Prince Harry is eager to celebrate Christmas in the UK, while Meghan Markle has little interest in returning, citing one specific condition. She is also worried about the possibility of facing a hostile reception.
As the countdown to Christmas begins, the royal family eagerly anticipates their gathering at the Sandringham estate in Norfolk. However, it is not expected that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will join the family this year. While they were not formally invited, Prince Harry is said to desire a reunion with his family during the festive season, a sentiment not shared by Meghan, creating a potential Christmas crisis for the couple.
Although they haven’t visited Sandringham since 2018, previous invitations had been extended to them on other occasions. However, the recent tension stemming from their Netflix film and Harry’s memoir has led to fewer invitations for family events. Prince Harry was not invited to the King’s recent 75th birthday celebrations in London, and his representative noted that he may not reunite with his family until he resolves the rift with his brother, Prince William, and his father, King Charles.
Nonetheless, Prince Harry remains eager to be in the UK with his family and close friends. He has fond memories of large family Christmases and misses the festive togetherness he experienced throughout his life until moving to America. The conflicting Christmas plans have caused some tension, as Prince Harry is frustrated with being away from his family during significant milestones.
Relationship expert Luela Alderson expressed that it wouldn’t be surprising if the couple’s Christmas arrangements added strain to their relationship. Prince Harry has extended multiple olive branches to both Charles and William without receiving a response, and he’s upset that there has been no contact since the coronation. He feels disillusioned that his family is ignoring him.
However, Major Thompson, the King’s heir, was tasked with delivering a message to Prince Harry. The message stated that unless their children accompanied them, they wouldn’t be welcome at the Christmas gathering. This condition apparently didn’t sit well with Prince Harry, who considered it beneath him for someone of lesser status to dictate his actions. Essentially, the message was clear: come with the children or don’t come at all. The requirement was for DNA verification if the children were present, which may explain Meghan’s reluctance, as no parent would allow their kids on an international modeling trip with strangers.
If there were any such job, it would be limited to a single modeling shoot with parents present, even if they hired other models as company and had a parent serving as the nanny. This arrangement would still ensure the children’s safety and connection with their real parents. As time passes, it seems that the existence of the children is being disregarded.
