A source close to the couple told The Sun that Harry was “desperate” for help and that he felt “let down” by the Invictus Games Foundation.
“Harry was really hoping that the Invictus Games Foundation would step up and help with security costs, but they’ve basically told him no,” the source said. “He’s really disappointed and feels like he’s been let down.”
The source added that Harry is now “begging” Charles for financial assistance.
“He’s told his father that he’s desperate and that he doesn’t know what else to do,” the source said. “Charles is sympathetic, but he’s also made it clear that he can’t help financially.”
It is unclear whether Charles will ultimately decide to help his son financially. However, the source said that Harry is “holding out hope” that he will.
The Invictus Games Foundation is a non-profit organization that was founded by Harry in 2014. The foundation hosts an annual sporting event for wounded, injured, and sick servicemen and women.
The foundation’s decision not to pay for Harry and Meghan’s security costs is reportedly due to the fact that they are no longer working royals. Harry and Meghan stepped back from their royal duties in 2020 and moved to the United States.
