Royal biographer Angela Levin has expressed concerns about the potential for a toxic atmosphere if Prince Harry attends King Charles’ coronation.
In an interview with Talk TV’s Mike Graham, Levin stated that Harry’s recent comments have been “too horrible for words” and have left the royal family furious.
She also suggested that Meghan Markle might choose to stay home for the event, adding that if there were any doubts about Meghan, wearing a snazzy tiara could improve her image.
Levin further explained that the public’s interest in Harry and Meghan has diminished, but they still hold a certain level of importance.
However, as a non-working royal, Meghan would not be allowed to wear any tiaras previously worn or to be worn by senior members of the royal family.
Instead, she might need to resort to purchasing a replica from the Buckingham Palace gift shop.
The palace will not lend her a tiara or coronet from the royal collection due to her non-working status.
There have even been rumors suggesting that Meghan was caught attempting to steal royal family jewelry.
While Queen Consort Camilla’s outfit for the coronation has been announced, it remains uncertain what the Princess of Wales, Catherine, will wear on her head.
Catherine, since joining the royal family, has worn three historic headpieces on thirteen different occasions.
Her first tiara appearance was at her 2011 wedding to Prince William, where she chose the Cartier Halo Tiara, crafted in 1936 by the French Luxury House.
This tiara originally belonged to Elizabeth, the Duchess of York, who later became Queen Mother, and was gifted to Queen Elizabeth II on her 18th birthday.
Catherine has also been seen wearing the Lotus Flower Tiara, also known as the Papyrus Tiara, on multiple occasions.
This ornate headpiece, adorned with diamonds and pearls, was a favorite of Princess Margaret’s and was previously worn by the Queen Mother.
Additionally, Catherine has donned the Lover’s Knot Tiara, another beloved piece of Princess Diana’s, commissioned for Queen Mary in the early 1900s.
Although the exact tiara Catherine will wear at the coronation remains uncertain, there is a possibility she may opt for a coronet, a small crown often worn during such events.
Historical photographs show that Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret wore smaller headpieces, similar to coronets, during King George VI’s coronation in 1936.
In the event that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle choose to attend King Charles’ coronation, they are expected to have minimal influence over their placement or role.
Dr. Ed Owens, a royal historian, commentator, and author, emphasized that the royal household will meticulously organize the coronation to prevent any awkwardness.
Palace staff will have complete control over the event, ensuring that every aspect is carefully planned and rehearsed down to the second.
If Harry and Meghan do make an appearance, they will likely be minor figures on the fringes of the event, with limited involvement in its proceedings.
The couple will have no say in how the coronation unfolds, as the royal household will manage all aspects of the ceremony.
