New versions of HomePod 16.4.1 and tvOS 16.4.1 for Apple TV models as well as the HomePod and HomePod mini were released by Apple today.

Performance and stability enhancements are included in the update for the “HomePod,” according to Apple’s release notes. When installing tvOS upgrades, Apple doesn’t give release notes, but they probably provide similar performance and stability enhancements.

Unless the feature is turned off, HomePod software is automatically installed on the device. However, by following the guidelines in our HomePod update, the HomePod can also be updated manually in the Home app.

The tvOS 16.4.1 update can be downloaded over-the-air from the Settings app on the ‌‌‌‌‌‌Apple TV‌‌‌‌‌‌ by going to System > Software Update. ‌‌‌‌‌‌Apple TV‌‌‌‌‌‌ owners who have automatic software updates enabled will be automatically updated to ‌tvOS 16.4.1.
